The Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation held a Life Saver Reception on March 17 to thank donors and demonstrate life-saving equipment purchased through the Foundation’s annual Life Saver Campaign.
Donors helped purchase new equipment for Buena Vista Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Services Department. This included 18 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), two AED trainers and a LUCAS Chest Compression System.
These life-saving tools will enhance emergency cardiac response throughout the hospital, ambulances and surrounding communities. Efforts of this campaign also support community education programs, ensuring more people are equipped with the knowledge to provide life-saving aid.
Over the years, the Life Saver Campaign has helped purchase equipment for various departments. Donations are used to support the hospital, helping to provide even greater care for our community.
Previous campaign purchases included an innovative endoscopy system to provide a clearer view when performing colonoscopies and other gastrointestinal procedures; ambulance cots, stair chairs and power lifts for the ambulances to reduce staff injuries; interactive equipment for Rehab Services to assist patients with strokes and to prevent falls; and a pulmonary function testing machine to help patients breathe easier.
