The Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce a generous $100,000 donation from the Taylor Family Farms Foundation, aimed at enhancing the emergency response capabilities of Buena Vista Regional Medical Center (BVRMC). This contribution will go toward the purchase of a new ambulance, a critical resource for the communities we serve.
The Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation will match this donation through funds raised from its annual golf event and other fundraising efforts, further ensuring emergency services in Buena Vista County.
BVRMC currently operates three ambulances in Storm Lake, as well as additional units in Sioux Rapids and Albert City. Together, these ambulances cover over 70,000 miles annually and completed 1,048 ambulance runs in the last fiscal year alone, reflecting the vital role they play in our community.
"This donation is a significant boost to our ability to provide fast, efficient emergency response services," said Katie Schwint, Executive Director of Community Development. "We are deeply grateful to the Taylor Family Farms Foundation for their unwavering support of rural health care."
Founded by Glen Taylor in 2023, the Taylor Family Farms Foundation is dedicated to uplifting rural communities in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
“The good people of this region have been crucial to my personal growth and success of my businesses,” said Taylor. “It brings me such joy to be in a position where I can give back some of what I have received.”
While most widely known for the printing company that bears his name and as the majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx professional sports teams, Taylor has a long history of funding philanthropic initiatives related to childhood education, rural community revitalization, environmental sustainability, and the social well-being of families in need.
