Patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis Receives Comfortable Care Close to Home

Betty Movall from Newell, a patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis for 45 years, has enjoyed exceptional care close to home at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center’s Oncology & Infusion Center throughout the past year.

Although she has been receiving care at BVRMC for her asthma for several years, she was skeptical about her options for her arthritis treatments due to insurance.

Once she learned she could receive all of her treatments locally, she made the switch. Receiving treatments close to home has been an added benefit in addition to the high caliber level of care she feels she is receiving at BVRMC.

Instead of driving hours every few weeks to receive her infusions, Movall receives her treatments in the comfort of her own community.

Relaxing, friendly and personal care are just a few of the words that Movall uses to describe BVRMC’s Oncology & Infusion Center.

“BVRMC provides good service and has great staff,” says Movall. “I like to talk, and they listen to me here.”

If there is ever an issue or concern, Movall feels confident that the doctors and staff at BVRMC will listen intently and look into it thoroughly.

“You’re not just a number here,” says Movall. “From the minute you are greeted at the door, they make you feel comfortable.”

There are many staff members at BVRMC that she believes goes the extra mile to make a difference in her care experience.

Movall notes that, when she enters the Oncology & Infusion Center, she is welcomed with a smile by staff members. Movall continued to say that the nurses are not only knowledgeable in their field, but are friendly and make her feel comfortable.

During her most recent infusion at BVRMC, Movall expressed that she received “the best poke I’ve ever had,” from a BVRMC nurse, which says a lot when considering how many times she’s been given shots, injections and IV’s throughout the years.

Needless to say, Movall is grateful for the quality of care she receives close to home at BVRMC’s Oncology & Infusion Center.

May is National Arthritis Awareness Month, and BVRMC wants to make sure those who are suffering from arthritis are aware of local resources.
