Jennifer Scott, ARNP, FNP-C began accepting patients January 31 at UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – Buena Vista. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of Iowa and her Master of Nursing degree from Graceland University.
Jennifer can provide care for the entire family as she sees newborns, children, teens, and adults at UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine. Her areas of expertise and clinical interests include disease prevention, pediatrics, cardiology, and diabetes. She is able to perform several in-office procedures including sutures, incision & drainage, simple biopsies, splints, pap/pelvic (pap smears), and Nexplanon insertion/removal.
According to Jennifer, “My top priority is to make sure my patients are informed, supported and encouraged in their healthcare. When a patient leaves our visit feeling in control and empowered, I know I have done my job.”
Jennifer knew since she was a child that she would want to become a health care provider and can’t imagine doing anything else. She focuses on building trust with each patient by offering evidence-based practice while upholding their values and autonomy. “I want all my patients to know that I am willing to listen, I’m open-minded and I want to work as a team to meet their health goals. My patients are why I do what I do.”
When Jennifer is not caring for patients, she enjoys hiking and kayaking. She is excited to meet patients and get to know them. Her work is her passion, and she is looking forward to making a difference in the community.
