Buena Vista Regional Medical Center has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2021 honor by The Des Moines Register. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

In addition to being ranked #5 in the medium business category, BVRMC also received the overall Appreciation special award recognition based on standout scores.

One employee quoted from survey said, “My input is sought and listened to.  I am acknowledged when I do a great job or my team does a great job.”

“During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward. Top Workplaces draw on real-time insights into what works best for their organization, so they can make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their people and their business.”

“This past year our team has experienced many challenges. Constantly cultivating a positive work culture has been a huge part of our employees’ ability to provide the best patient care,” says BVRMC CEO Rob Colerick.

BVRMC implements continual employee education on creating a positive environment for patients and co-workers. They also reward positive employee relations with a variety of ways for employees to recognize the everyday great things their co-workers are doing.

“When we focus on creating a positive culture for employees, ultimately our patients also reap the benefits of receiving care by people that enjoy what they do and find purpose in their everyday work,” explains Rob Colerick.
