BVRMC Foundation Nursing Scholarships Now Available

All applicants must meet criteria (A, B, C & D) to be eligible to apply (BVRMC employees note E for special exception):
A) Any student with a permanent residence in the following Iowa counties: Buena Vista, Sac, Ida, Pocahontas,Clay or Cherokee.

B) Any student who has completed at least one year of pre-nursing education at an accredited school and has applied or will be applying to a nursing program for the upcoming academic year.

C) Students who already have a nursing degree and are working toward an advanced degree in nursing.

D) Any student with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 on a four-point scale.

E) Or any Buena Vista Regional Medical Center employee with a CNA certificate that has completed at least one semester of nursing education.

What amount is the scholarship?

The scholarship is $1000 per year ($500 per semester paid directly to the school). The recipient will need to provide evidence of acceptable academic progress to receive the second $500 payment. Applicants will need to reapply each year for consideration by the Scholarship Committee. Past scholarship recipients are not eligible if they have received a scholarship twice.

What is the deadline for applying?

Applications are accepted in February and March. The application will need to be mailed directly to the Foundation Office Assistant at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center with a postmark of no later than March 31st. This deadline also applies to the postmark of the Reference reports. (Three Reference reports required).
